Ikebana Event

On Wednesday 27 March 2024, The Embassy of Japan in Rome, with the cooperation of MJCC and the Bonsai Culture Group, held an Ikebana lecture and demonstration at St. James Cavalier in Valletta.

The lecture and demonstration were conducted by Ms. Yoko Kurata a professional instructor from the Ikenna school based in Kyoto.

The event was introduced by Mr. Tadahiko Yamaguchi, Charge d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Malta and also by Ms. Risa Saijo from the Japanese Embassy in Rome who travelled to Malta for the occasion.

The event was well attended and the Malta Bonsai Culture Group also provided a beautiful exhibition of some bonsai in the foyer to the conference hall.

MJCC provided assistance mainly by providing its premises for the preparation of the flowers and equipment used.

MJCC President Mr. Anthony Micallef and other members of the Committee were also present.
